BREATHE : INSPIRE : SPIRIT - Painters
Introducing Andrew Lacey
Contemporary artist, archeometallurgist, founder, and independent scholar based in the UK. My approach to making sculpture and exploring the nature of materials is influenced by historic, archaeological, and scientific study. I have a fascination with bronze and the capacity to cast my own work, allowing me to intercept the creative process at any stage. This enables me to take an artistic approach that is spontaneous, experimental, and highly focused.

Introducing Sarah Hopkins
Industrial and agricultural heritage are recurring themes in Sarah’s work.
She has always been fascinated by man-made landscapes and the architectural shapes and patterns, which tell us so much about the history and culture of a place.
Sarah works primarily with printmaking processes and her screen prints are particularly celebrated. She creates intricate, hand-cut and torn paper stencils, and builds her images by printing multiple layers of colour adding depth and detail. She likes to challenge the conventions of traditional printmaking by layering light pigments over dark, enjoying the translucency and opacity of the medium.

Peter Oliver 1927 - 2006
Back in 2019 when my very good friend, Jaquine Oliver, asked if I would be interested in looking at images of her late fathers work I couldn't have imagined how smitten I would be with his work.
As a longtime fan of the work of Nicolas De Stael, I likened Peter Oliver's work to his. Strong bold palette, rich textures and clean, striking compositions. Mid Century Modern that you would want to hang on your wall in the 21st Century. I was not familiar with his name but I knew I liked his work.
Last year we introduce some of Peter's small work at the Ebb and Flow exhibition to our visitors delight. For this current Monochrome exhbition I have selected 3 more pieces to delight you.
