"Originally from Kent I have lived abroad and in many parts of England and have now settled in Herefordshire with my family. The incredible landscape here has always been a significant influence on me as seasons pass and everything changes. Even though most of it has been shaped by Agriculture over the centuries, areas remain wild (and dark) and there are always fascinating reminders of this wherever you walk.

I have recently completed a series of paintings exploring almost liminal, overlooked spaces, sometimes empty or partially used, but always with a strange sense of melancholy about them. The buildings are usually on the edge of towns or villages or are rural , deep within the countryside and perhaps partially hidden, whether by choice or accident,  or painted at night under the peculiar atmospheres created by artificial light."
