Alexander Fox-Robinson : Painter : Ammanford
Growing up in my house we had a book called Rembrandt and the Bible, the etchings in there were a great inspiration for me and from very young I was always drawing animals and soldiers. I drew and painted throughout school exploring japanese comics and popular painters like van Gogh until then I had only been drawing from my imagination.
I went on to a Bachelors in Fine Art at Carmarthen School of Art. Here I got a lot better at figurative representation with weekly life drawing and from life references. By my final year I was making large narrative paintings that echoed my ambitions from my childhood with religious themes, soldiers and animals. Since University I have continued to pursue large oil compositions that feature more colour with more finished figures in an effort to seperate my drawing and painting.
