Philip lives at Temperance Cottage, a mid 19th Century stone-built miners’ dwelling at the northern reach of the Swansea Valley.

Having adopted a hedged garden back in 2010, he has been exploring ways of managing its 140ft extent of mixed native species including Ash, Hazel and Holly.

Making traditional Welsh Stick furniture was an ideal model and so he embarked on a period of research, design and making. The resulting pieces, 

here focusing on a three legged stool are being developed and refined for those interested in sustainable resources, craft and hand-tools. Other dimensions are available on request.
