Born in Antwerp, Belgium, living in Machynlleth in Wales

My work is a celebration of the connection I have with geological processes and rock formations of the coastline in Cardigan Bay as evident in the Aberystwyth Grits.

I am also intrigued by the Neolithic marks carved in rock by our ancestors found across the British Isles.

The purpose or meaning of these enigmatic and repetitive motifs is beyond my grasp yet I am compelled to analyse and decipher. Drawn to these suggestive markings the single dot becomes rhythm, the I becomes the We and the subjective becomes the collective. 

Each mark alludes to the origin held within as molten minerals solidify into stone and in turn is carved into, but ultimately eroded by the elements.

These geological phenomena and Neolithic interpretations become conduits of continuity, to foster a sense of rhythm, balance and stability in a world where the only constant is change.
