Collection: Michèle Wright 'Lockdown Life'

From the moment I took my first portrait I knew I would be making up my own rules. I cycled or walked to all of my subjects and stayed at least 2m away from them, working with what I had to tell their lockdown stories. The project gathered momentum as word spread and I continue to work on it, loving every moment and feeling as if my day is not quite complete if I have not taken at least one portrait!

The resulting body of work is humorous, quirky and, I hope, uplifting for these troubled times. Being forced to stay in my own area has meant I now have countless new friends and feel far more ‘at home’; this project has been about far more than photography.
