Axe and Paddle : Spoon Carving Course at Llangathen Temperance Hall
Saturday 16th Nov : 10-5pm
Embrace the opportunity to learn to carve your own wooden spoon in the gorgeous Llangathen Hall. Steve, of Axe & Paddle, will share with you his many years of carving experience and knowledge of the tools and materials to use. You'll learn a range of cutting techniques using an axe, a sloyd knife and a crook knife, allowing you to create your own wooden spoon efficiently and safely.
The experience is suitable for all abilities and is a guaranteed relaxing and satisfying day learning a fantastic new skill.
You'll leave with the confidence and knowledge to be able to practice what you've learnt on your own and of course, you'll take home your own wooden spoon to add to your kitchen collection! There is nothing like eating a nice bowl of porridge or a home-cooked stew with a spoon that you've hand carved yourself! Or alternatively, they make a very special and memorable gift.
The course is hosted in the beautiful Llangathen Hall. We provide tea and coffee. Please bring your own lunch and some sturdy (not open toe) shoes.

Absolutely brilliant hosts and left us feeling that we'd always known them. We learned a great deal and were inspired by them and what they had to teach us."
