I grew up in North Wales, surrounded by its coastline and mountains. Even though I moved to London to study Fine Art at Hornsey College of Art in the late 60s, I never lost my enchantment with landscape. I did some printmaking whilst at college, but it was only after returning to rural Wales in 1999 and joining Tywi Printmakers a few years later that my interest in printmaking really developed.

I construct my images from recollections; of places I may have been, momentary glimpses of something curious, a certain time of day, or a particular light, often combined in away that enables me to capture feelings of transience or oftimelessness.

I work quite intuitively, preferring not to pre draw an image on the plate, thereby allowing it to develop gradually through the printmaking process.
