At the beautiful Llangathen Temperance Hall next door to Aberglasney Gardens SA32 8QD
Join our one-day lino cut course to take your first steps into printmaking. Whether you are interested in making prints as a hobby, an aid to mental health or a potential source of income, this course will provide you with the basic knowledge from which to grow your own print practice.
Working in a small group, the day will allow you to experience and experiment with the whole process, from designing and transferring your idea to the block, to carving and pressing your first handmade print. The day price includes the basic tools which you can take away to continue your printing after this introduction. Lino is an ideal medium for the home studio, requiring little space or specialist equipment.
Teaching and support materials will include lists of suppliers to purchase further paper, lino and inks, reading suggestions and tips for further development. Participants can bring their own lunch or we can supply …..(etc)
Ingrid works full time as a freelance printmaker and previously ran her own gallery-café in Edinburgh for a decade, teaching an art group in the evenings. Her original love of lino was ignited on her Foundation Course at Norwich School of Art, although her art practice only arrived back at printmaking after a circuitous route via photography and painting.
Cost: £85pp including all materials for the day’s workshop and the basic equipment you need for the day and to take away to continue your practice
