Collection: Owen Schroder : Wood Turner : Blaencwrt
"I began woodturning back in 2013, when I was 11 years old, on a pole lathe (foot powered) that my father had built. The feeling of slicing wood got me hooked and soon enough I progressed to an electric lathe. Since then, I have tried many different projects from all sorts of woods, both exotic and local, though locally sourced timber is my preference.
The main focus of my work is to achieve a flowing, simple and proportionally correct form to enhance the beautiful woods I work with. The style of my work is constantly evolving as I continue to learn and experiment. I responsibly source the timber myself from local landowners with storm-fallen trees. I see each piece from the tree, through drying and turning, to finally putting my signature on it once it reaches my perfectionist quality-control standards."
