"I have always been awed by the wonders of the natural world, and how, given time and space, Mother Nature reclaims that which we leave behind, making it part of the landscape once more. These mysterious ancient boundaries between times past and present; between manmade artefacts and the natural world remind us of our insignificance. It is the expression and sharing of this wonder that inspires me: that need to create something that says, ‘Stop. Look. Isn’t our world incredible.’

I work in a variety of media on paper, canvas and panel: scratching and sanding through the layers to expose what lies beneath to create subtleties of texture and colour that add to the overall feel of the painting. I enjoy experimenting with marks, often with materials found on my walks, and working more intuitively without an end design in mind, striving to bring the spontaneity of nature into my creative process."
