Silver birches were a helpful way to visually dissect the landscape, cutting through with their strong, contrasting shapes - And of course to just enjoy some of the fundamental joys of painting - mark, colour, composition and life.
I used a process of ink and bleach here. Fleeting and unprecious, these paintings were made sat in the snow trying to capture the spaces left behind - I can still feel my cold feet when I look at this.
The giclee prints are identical to the originals, and the saturated nature of the ink works beautifully as a print.
They are printed on heavyweight paper at the highest quality.
