The mutual flourishing of people, plants and the planet is in our hands.
The mutual flourishing of people, plants and the planet is in our hands. The 17th century botanist, astrologer, physician and herbalist Nicholas Culpepper linked the astronomical rulers and properties of the planets with individual herbs, combining various sources of knowledge to both diagnose and heal. The herbs in this drawing, Cleavers, Comfrey, Nettle and Dog Rose are ruled by the Moon, Saturn, Mars and Venus respectively, and each planet is linked to a specific part of the hand. Each if these planets is read on the palm and fingers, allowing the mutual flourishing of plants, planets and people to literally be held in our hands.
