Contrast was something that really stayed with me after this trip. Contrast in weather, contrast in shapes, contrast in light. There was a wealth of investigation to be had in just looking simply at this pine with the light bleeding through.
I used a process of ink and bleach here. Fleeting and unprecious, these paintings were made sat in the snow trying to capture the spaces left behind - I can still feel my cold feet when I look at this.
The giclee prints are identical to the originals, and the saturated nature of the ink works beautifully as a print.
They are printed on heavyweight paper at the highest quality.
