Each piece is a unique object in which all the drawing, including the lettering, is done freehand.
Drawings are done with food colouring before being scratched out with a sharp point (sgraffito). Washes of oxide and underglaze colour are then applied to the leather hard pot.
All this relies on many preparatory sketches and paintings.
