This one started with a photo of my daughter eating a donut she’d decorated herself — that grin was completely real, and completely that big. I really wanted to capture that total joy she was feeling.
My main aim however was to explore the ‘evil’ lure of junk food but keep it playful. The white gloves are a nod to cartoons and childhood (I’m thinking Mickey Mouse), but also to the idea that gloves appear when something precious — or dangerous — is being handled. A donut is neither. Well, mostly.
