The painting is acrylic on board and it is framed in a roughly 55 year old leather frame created by a (unknown) Hungarian craftsman. There will be very few of these leather framed paintings because the frames are now scarce and as a result, incredibly hard to find. None the less, Veronika thoroughly enjoy the hunt for them.
The Potato Bug is part of Veronika's 'Roots' series; a slowly growing body of work telling stories about searching for our identity, a place of desired belonging and many of the highs and lows we encounter along that journey of self-discovery.
