STILL : LIFE - Sold

Stillness.  Calm.  Waiting. 
That liminal space between the before and the after. 
The top of the breath. 
A moment of anticipatory sanctuary before the reveal of…..the tip of the bulb breaking through the surface of the soil, the breaking of the furry bud on the bough, the beginning of an act, the arrival of guests. 
In the transitional time that is not still Winter but not yet Spring we wait and anticipate.
In life there is colour, there is sound, there is dispute, there is laughter - but it is in the moments of quiet that we take refuge, a pause for our thoughts to acknowledge the seeming suspended animation before the beginning of the next.
