Mixed media - the process involves staining, scratching and scoring the gesso surfaces with incised lines that cut through, sometimes revealing what lies beneath.
The pieces are on a wooden board mounted on a wood frame to give it depth. the edges are painted and become part of the work; so they are within their own frame.
