Lorna Edmiston studied drawing and painting at Glasgow School of Art under Dame Barbara Rae and James D. Robertson. She taught art as a university lecturer in Bournemouth and Cardiff and has exhibited her work throughout the UK, as well as in Germany and the USA.

Her paintings are an interpretation of landscape – the subject matter of land, sea and sky provides a starting point for the expressive use of colour, vigorous brushwork and a personal visual vocabulary. Her work is held in private collections in the UK and USA.
