Kirsty is an award-winning ceramicist. She originally trained at Brighton Art College and then on the potter’s wheel in Japan. She has developed a personal approach to throwing on the wheel using porcelain clay, to produce unique pieces for the home.

Her recent Icelandic collection of moon jars, bowls and vessels is the culmination of a research trip to Iceland, expressing the ‘otherworldliness’ of the landscapes experienced there. She textures the clay with a wooden Japanese comb tool whilst throwing and then dips and pours the glazes to enjoy the effects that the layering brings. It is important that each piece retains an element of individuality, experimentation and tension on opening the kiln
