Karen Hopkins : Painter : Llanelli

On my daily walks along the coastal landscape, I observe the light and shapes that are constantly changing with the tides and seasons.

I make comparisons of the organic marks left in the sand and earth to that of our physical bodies that are also constantly changing through time.

Through my paintings I try to communicate with transparent wrinkly skins, juxtaposed with baron and  dusty textures with glimmers of luminosity fighting through. I marvel at the natural organic forms that the alchemy of the drying mediums unveil.

Brigid my paintings are untitled, as I found ‘viewers’ identify and experience different personal memories or places. But if you feel they need a title, I’m sure I can come up with some.
