Julie Hutton : Ceramic Artist : Laugharne

Julie Hutton is a ceramic artist based in laugharne, West Wales. She graduated from Carmarthen School of Art in 2017 with first Class honours. Following her final degree show Julie was selected for several UK graduate exhibitions. 

Julie creates abstract paintings, inhabiting her flow space. She then recreates parts of these paintings on the surfaces of her hand built ceramic forms. Experimentation with glaze, colour, firing techniques, patterns and shapes inform Julie's work. Each form is individual and organic with a contemporary feel. 

Previously a Social Worker and Therapist Julie is aware of the human need to be connected to ourselves, others and our environment. In creating her ceramic pieces Julie has found her antidote to feelings of disconnection.
