Collection: Jess Woodrow : Painter : Hay on Wye

After a childhood in Ireland, Jess came to live in Wales in 1972 with her parents, who liked to relocate themselves roughly once a year. Painting became her way of dealing with this nomadic life; integrating time, space and eclectic experiences into her work, which continues to this day.

She has a BA in Fine Art from Howard Gardens, Cardiff and an MA in Fine Art from Bath College of Art & Design.
After her degree she was a member of Artspace in Bristol and was involved in the committee overseeing the transition to the new building that became Spike Island.

After her MA she was a member of BV studios in Bristol before returning to Wales for the third time!

She was elected to the Welsh Group in 2023.
