"Although primarily an abstract artist my paintings often combine abstraction with some element of realism and employ techniques such as layering, scraping and drawing through paint, I use found items such as discarded plastic fishing ropes for mark making.  My work is an investigation of place, rooted in nature, referencing local land/seascapes and exploring colour and form with a particular emphasis on light. I work mainly with oil and acrylic paint, include hand printed papers as collage and combine my etchings, lithographs and lino prints within paintings.
