Carol Freter : Ceramic Artist : Aberystwyth

As an artist living on the West Wales coastline I’ve always drawn inspiration for my ceramics from both the seascapes and landscapes of Cardigan Bay. Having spent idyllic summer family days in Llanina and New Quay, watching as they paddled in the shallow pools and swum in the open water.  More recently, days are spent sketching coastal landscapes in Borth and Aberystwyth and exploring local history. 

Embracing the physical connection with the clay that hand building allows, whilst creating unique works that reference found objects, discarded finds and treasures deposited by the sea, provides endless inspiration for this body of work.
