Collection: Alison Richards : ARRTDUO : Merthyr Tydfil

Ever since my school days I have been fascinated by the feel of clay in my hands. By the way I can mould and shape it into amazing forms that excite me. My joy in sculptural form is inspired by the Brecon Beacons near my home. My love of colour from my birthplace in Kenya where bright colours shine as a metaphor for hope.

As part of a collaboration ARRTDUO I have explored techniques in kiln formed glass, silver smithing and casting, all this experience feeds into the way I work. Most pieces I make involve a creative conversation that includes a piece of contemporary poetry. Working in ceramic glass or silver I use my hands to create unique artworks. Each one brings to life a creative moment, which I treat with great care and love to make it perfect.
