As a Contemporary Designer Maker, inspiration is drawn from both material experimentation and the mechanics of natural phenomena. I choose to work with uncommon sustainable materials that can be just as aesthetically pleasing but ethical in practice. Over the years I have researched new and innovative ways to design and make with tagua using laser cut designs that are organically formed to create these spyrographical patterns similar to compression fossils or ammonites.
 Known as the vegetable ivory, tagua nuts have been used to carve and create various ornamental pieces that would normally use elephant ivory.
I have also started to use other types of nuts, the Thika and Uxi Nut to create other ranges. Designs are formed around the natural patterns found in the Thika and Uxi. These too can be used to carve ornamental pieces.
