In response to the 2020 Australian wildfires and the devastating impact on the eco system, the obvious material of choice was eucalyptus wood. Fire fighters call this the ‘gasoline tree’ and in these art rings, seed heads are set with charcoal to suggest the all-consuming ‘flame front’ of the fires.
Scientists warn that among the developed nations, Australia is most vulnerable to climate change.
These are display pieces, not to be worn.
Spalted wood, eucalyptus, charcoal, steel pins.
