Inspired by the Haiku poetry of mum and poet, Stella Pierides, this painting is one of the Candied Fruits Series.
A series of memories of the preserved sugary fruits I grew up with, the sticky syrup trickling down my chin in the intense heat of my childhood.
Figs were my absolute favourite. That sugary sweetness that is gorgeous and too much at the same time and from that a whole series grew.
Painted on slim edge canvas, the edges are painted black to compliment the painting.
